Cat Training Services

Despite popular belief, cats can be trained. With the right techniques training is a powerful tool for enriching your cat’s life. Training a cat is, essentially, teaching a cat to perform desired behaviours using positive reinforcement. The desired behaviour is taught by shaping the cats’ natural behaviours in small rewarding steps.

There are so many behaviours that a cat can learn, including:

  • Target stick training
  • Training the cat to go to a desired location or “parking spot”
  • Getting brushed
  • Jumping over, crawling under
  • Sitting pretty
  • High five, fist bump, shake
  • Sit, down, stay
  • Using a cat flap
  • Willingly accept toothbrushing
  • Cat carrier training
  • Willingly take oral medication - liquid or tablets
  • Redirection of unwanted behaviour such as counter surfing

  • Demonstrate cat friendly training methods and explain how to apply them

Follow‑up email support is provided after the Starter Session for 8 weeks to provide continued guidance to help implement the plan, troubleshoot early hurdles, and track your cat’s progress.

Please note, you will be required to complete a form prior to the first session. The form will allow me to gain some understanding on who your cat is and what your goals are.

Ideal for
